It all started with a Singer.

Our story

Established in 2019, F by A unique clothing started as a long forgotten passion brought back to life by a need for an escape. It all started with a single cheap beginners Singer sewing machine, that was bought back in the early 2000’s and given back to the owner by her parents after some spring cleaning. Stationed at her kitchen table, she started with a second hand sweater and some men’s dress shirts. That simple sewing machine reignited a flame that she thought she lost long ago. As time went on, so did her knowledge grow and her talent shine, expanding the business into what is it today.

Created as a means for a creative outlet and a cost effective way to make clothing that would otherwise either not fit her or be way out of her price range, F by A quickly turned into a way to help people and help the planet.

Sustainable preservation.

What happens to a wedding dress when the night is over and the couple has returned from their honeymoon? For years, brides have gotten their dresses preserved. Stuffed in a box to store in an attic, or the tops of their closets, in hopes that they get to pass it on to a daughter or a niece. Unfortunately, more and more brides are consigning or donating their mothers, grandmothers, and even their own wedding dresses. What’s worse? A majority of the donated ones end up in a landfill to rot.

Our designs are made from those unwanted dresses. We take the old, out of style, damaged, and stained, and redesign them into wedding dresses and outfits that can be loved again. In a way, preserving those memories of love and hope for the next generation. We believe the life of a wedding dress doesn’t have to end after the honeymoon.

“Very professional, for being self taught has great design ideas and sells great clothes. Highly recommend.”
